CrossFit East Bay Rest Day 9-22-08: T-Shirts
We are working on making CFEB T-shirts, featuring the logo you see above on the masthead; thanks to Daniel O. for the design. I am considering the following slogans:
You Say It's a Cult Like it's a bad thing...
Coach Is My Oprah
CrossFit East Bay: Building Better Booty (with pirate logo)
-Also the design below:

My Vote: You Say It's a Cult Like it's a bad thing...
Ditto
You might want to play around with syntax a little bit like "You say, CULT, like it's a bad thing" or " CULT, is that a bad thing" I think the word "CULT" in caps surround by whatever in smaller print would have an arresting visual acuity.
Matthew wants to put his two cents in for the puking Teddy Bear image and the words, "Soft and Cuddily"
Finally, Matthew and I are interested in doing Sprints Monday afternoon (after 6:00 maybe)
anyone else interested, James?
I gotta agree, the Cult one is the best of the bunch.
As for the sprints, I'm interested in doing them too, but I have birthday dinner plans tonight and won't be able to make it. But, next Monday at 6, and every Monday thereafter, LET'S RUN!!!
I think "This is FITNESS, not Vanity" is a good one too.
Personally, I like
Front: "That which does not kill me makes me stronger"
Back: Logo and "It hasn't killed me yet."
Max does not seem to respond to this one, though.
Second favorite would probably be Fitness not Vanity.
CrossFit Evangelist: Spreading the Faith in Fitness
Have You Accepted Coach Glassman as Your Personal Savior?
You Know You're a CrossFitarian when...
Your Favorite Numbers are 21, 15 and 9.
You discuss cleans, snatches and jerks but aren't talking about what most people would think you're talking about.
Every Time You Miss a CrossFit WOD, God Kills a Kitten
Come to the Dark Side: The First WOD's Free
Fran is My Homegirl
Oh, and yes, I like the cult one too and I also like "Building Better Booty"--argh!!!
Capacity for suffering dictates potential for progress
On another note, I'll be at the Cal track (soccer field) tomorrow night at 6pm if anyone is interested in running - Bill? Matthew? Ev? Max? Alex? I know someone out there needs to get their sprint on!!!
I like it simple (no "what doesn't kill you"...); just Crossfit, "It hasn't kill me yet"
Bill and Matt after 6pm, they said...? I have their number, if you want it. I can text it to you, if the number you posted here previously is your cell.
I like Daniel's Quote, but only if we can get a picture of Friedrich Nietzsche puking to put on the shirt with it.
No puking Bill :-p not teddy bears or Neizsche. Yuck.
I like the 'make me stronger' quote - and the building better booty one.
hmmm, so many good quotes...in no particular order I like:
puking teddy bear
building a better booty
that which doesn't kill me
can I vote against this is fitnes, not vanity? I think that sounds like we take ourselves too seriously.
I know Jim likes the puking teddy bear. That has personal meaning to us. We weren't sure if we should try crossfit until one of our friends said that it almost made him puke. Then we knew it was the class for us!
James C is right. We have to keep it simple.
Guy Kawasaki's "Art of the Start" Making Mantra says A mantra is a few words that express the essential work of the project or company. Guy offered these examples:
Authentic athletic performance (Nike)
fun family entertainment (Disney)
Think (IBM)
After seeing the above suggestions, I strung together this.
CFEB
Cult. Fitness. Extreme. Booty.
I really dislike Booty, but I couldn't think of anything that started with "B"..yet.
B - Burpees!
Cult of Fitness Extremists -- Boyyyyyy! (Flava Flav)
I'm sooooooo just kidding ;)
CULTS ARE SO PASSE
Cults are totally 2005.... Let's say more by saying less:
Front: "That which does not kill me makes me stronger"
Back: Logo and "It hasn't killed me yet."
Love the new barbell design...
I guess I am really late for this discussion---but if votes are still being taken, I vote for super simple: one version with just the new logo, no slogan. Though I also like the "that which doesn't kill me"---I am pro-Nietzsche.
