CrossFit East Bay Rest Day 081020
A word to the wise. If you plan on coming to all, or most, of next week's classes, I strongly suggest you take the next two days as rest days.
In the meantime here are some things I think are worth looking at:
Obama 2004 Convention Speech. CrossFit East Bay officially endorses Obama for President.
Good, skeptical look at various topics:
- Problems with nutritional supplements
- Double Blind Testing
- The problem with retrospective studies: Why what's good for you changes
- Homeopathy: Diluted and deluded
- Sodascience - An open letter to the thirsty
- The "Bullshido" of martial arts and no-touch knockouts

"strongly suggest you take the next two days as rest day"
Sounds like its 'go' time, but my ankle says its 'slow' time. On the plus side, I'm back in the Burpee Challenge doing double days till the finish.
I will not be doing Fran tonight, as posted on my "strength" schedule (I think I should call it a VOLUME schedule, as I'm doing way too much volume and cardio to be getting stronger, but that's a whole conversation unto itself.) I will do Fran tomorrow. Nick prefers Ironworks. I can do either gym. James M? Bill and Matt?
Sorry to hear about your ankle, Bill.
Chuck, where've you been? How is your ankle? Are you still in the burpee challenge? Inquiring minds want to know.
xoxox to all--
Ev :)
ps
It was awesome to be in class for Tabata Cindy. GOOD TIMES!!!
Thanks Ev, ankle getting better. 197 burpees today to finish catching up and 100 tomorrow and the challenge is over.
Did Bill injure his ankle as well?
max,
maybe post wed workout early? I may have to do it tomorrow. Tx
Chuck, Kudos on completing the Burpee challenge. My ankle is fine, my Hams and Quads are pretty sore from this weekend's work. What with soreness and Max'x caveat I should probably take it easy tmw. but Matthew says he wants to chill w/ Fran Tues. nite pref. at Ironworks around 6:00, can't pass up a chance to Xfit w/the kid. I'm sure I'll pay for it later. Oh well.
I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the sunday class. I was a little scared and disoriented going into my first class but everyone was very helpful. I think I'm hooked and can't wait till wednesday.
A word to the unwise and overzealous CrossFitters:
Nick and I will be at Ironworks at 6:30pm for Fran. Come as you are, come at your own risk and if you don't come, due to heeding your coaches sage advice (or any other reason), you have my total understanding and respect and happy rest-daying to ya!
Ev :)
Oh, I just saw that: Bill and Matt, I will try to make it earlier...but probably arrive circa 6-6:30...and you may be done by then. Have fun anyway.
This is a fun blog post about day 100 of burpee challenge, from CrossFit Virtuosity.
