I don't know about the men's shirts but the women's run a bit small. Try one on first or buy a size up, womynz.
Day 8 done.
Day 8 done. Actually 15 days without sugar or alcohol and 13 non-consecutive days without grains.
1 Year Improvements
Fran
2/22/08-9:03 using 30# thruster & assisted pullups
12/19/08-10:54 RX (65# thruster/kipping pullups)
Filthy 50
3/8/08 56:20 (not RX)
10/16/08 44:20 RX (KTE are suspect though)
Kettlebell Complex
3/2/08 8 rounds (12 kg)
12/19/08 12 rounds (12 kg)
Deadlifts
I recall 125 was really hard. I've maxed at 165.
Elaine:You might add a ridiculous number of consecutive push-ups and I'm sure a bunch of other things.
You are a *sick* super BAMFette, mama!
Great work, Elaine! I find it so frustrating to compare non-RX workouts to RX ones, since they aren't apples-to-apples.
My one-year anniversary with Crossfit is March 1st (though I didn't start going to CFEB until April, I think), and I plan a full comparison then. I'm still hoping to eke out a couple goals beforehand.
day 8 done.
My first year will be up in Late April. But I've already made huge strides. I hope to have a real pullup by 1 year - heck by February.
No sugar today. Five days before Sunday. This is day six right? So, by my count, six days with no sugar.
Improvements? Do I even need to discuss? Huge improvements in everything since July 2nd.
Ready 2009 training!!

Force Calculator
Actually, skill aside, from a simple work capacity standpoint we can see that Elaine produced:
2/22/08
Power Output
39.84 watts
0.05 horsepower
29.38 ft-lbs/sec
And:
12/19/08
Power Output
44.78 watts
0.06 horsepower
33.03 ft-lbs/sec
Of course this does not take into account the giant increase in strength and skill which it takes to do this RX, but this is an 11% increase in power output for an already fit athlete in one year. Not too shabby, and if it could be repeated for 4-5 more years would yield a huge increase in capacity.
The KB complex workout, having less of a skill component shows a 150% increase in work capacity!!
Really though the biggest improvement in my mind for Elaine is her huge improvement in form and body awareness. She was really scaring me in those first weeks or months! Now it is beautiful and makes me happy to watch.
She also added 5% more muscle mass, impressive for a female hard-gainer (now if she would just fix her diet...)
And then on day 8...on a particularly tired and poopy day the insane craving returned. She had a sudden desire to raid the nearest candy store, flipping over displays and knocking over small children. Instead, she sat at her desk and quietly gnawed off her left arm. At this very moment, fate, having a particularly twisted sense of humor, prompted the receptionist to broadcast "There are some leftover sandwiches in the 29 Kitchen! COME AND GET IT!"--message importance, marked "high."
She did not give in.
Shit. It would have been funnier if I hadn't screwed it up. That was an earlier broadcast. Here's the real offender:
"COOKIES FROM SPECIALTIES IN THE 29 KITCHEN! --COME AND GET IT!"
Hang in there, Ev!!
The first crossfit workout I have notes for is "lynne" on leap year day 2008. At that point my max rep pullup was 2. Now it's 20. On May 1 my max deadlift was 135# and now it's 205#. At the beginning of July I wrote something snarky on Keith's crossfit form about how muscle-ups were an impossible goal, and on August 28, less than two months later, I got a muscle-up---and on October 10 I did 10 muscle-ups in less than half an hour. Thank you Max!
No sugar today. seven days without sugar.
