Gita says this is supposed to be cleans and jerks, not just cleans.
Quite Right.
If I understand this correctly, for a 30 year old twin who weighs 165lbs, that's either 34 x 165# squat clean and jerks, or 34 x 140# squat clean n jerks for time? holy smokes! :)
It may be because it's late, but I can't make heads or tails out of that equation. And isn't [99 - (Age + 1)] the same as [100-Age]?
[99-(age+1)] is actually 98-age (minus sign carries thru the parenthesis)
98 - age. I don't know why Gita used such confusing notation but I changed it.
Men = BW
Women = .85BW
Only 72 reps at 92% of my 1RM for clean & jerks...Gita you've gone soft!
BTW Max you may want to check the DL as a % of bodyweight record...my guess is that Robin and I have similar bodyweights, in which case he would clearly win that one (though I think I was closer to 170 than 178 when I got 410).
Brandon: I screwed up the notation. it is 37 reps for you. Maybe the original notation:
[99-(age+1)]/2
was supposed to ensure that it makes an even number? It does not.
The intent is BW full squat C&Js by my age as the rep scheme. Although the workout is entirely a personal goal of mine, my thought in turning it into a group workout was to have it account for both BW and age which rarely or does not happen in CF workouts. In order to have the age count for you I made an equation that matched my goal. Unfortunately I did carry through the -1 but did not eliminate it upon doing so. It should be (99-age)/2, round up for number of reps. See you all tonight.
50:07 Rx - 180# for 38 Reps
The math equation was lost on me, despite Max explaining it to me right beforehand. I ended up doing 50 x 115 lbs. in 22:15. I ran out of time so I couldn't do the full 71 reps I think I was supposed to do.
I did Grace instead (30 C&J at 135#).
50:06RX
This is a mortifying time, unless you take into account that my 1RM is 140.
14:58 38 Reps at 117#
Exhausting. Not as painful or injuring as I thought it might be. Form was not exactly perfect. But it was fun, thanks Gita.
