Lone Survivor

Check out the questionable form on that bald guy - No rep! No rep! This was at CrossFit Oakland Mark One and the form standards in general have evolved a lot since then (4.5 years ago).

"Murph"

For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it (12.5 pounds for women)

75:31 wore a 12.5# vest for the first half.

76:06

45:26, 20# vest, 75% volume

Had a family thing to get to, so (sadly) couldn't stick around to finish.

Ditched the pull-ups after I tore my palm on the 70th one. Did the other exercises to completion.

40:10 no vest

MT

86:40 RX + 20# Vest. Did not expect to use the vest today, as I've only broken the 60 minute mark without it once, and only by a little. Pushups were definitely the limiting factor, even when breaking things up 5-5-15-5. But, hey, every rep counted!

1/2 volume 33:25 rx, but still only stringing together 2 or 3 pullups at a time, and my push-ups are weak. May try some bench press 3x5 work.

MT

66:06 with a 12.5# vest. Never done murph before. Only doing 5 pushups at a time is a major win.

Whoever Andre is took a wrong turn on his way to the Justice League of America when he ended up at CrossFit Eastbay.

I just want to break an hour with the 20# vest, something I barely failed to do last time.

Google

60:05RX + 12.5# vest for the runs. For some reason, this was a lot harder than the last time in Nov/09 although I didn't use any weights then. I'm still sore from the pushups today, 3 days later. Tell me again why wearing the vests are good? They need to get girl vests.

58:09 Rx (20# vest) on May 4, 2010.

So I finally broke an hour but I really wanted to break 50 minutes. Only thing holding me back are my weak ass push-ups.

I'm going to half the reps (including the run) and try it again next week with either 30 or 40 pounds and see what happens. Why? Cause it sounds like nasty fun.

*halve the reps
