WOD 100523

As many rounds as needed to complete 45 reps of C2B Pull-Up/Pull-Up:

  • Perform 25 burpees every three minutes on the third minute
  • Max rep C2B Pull-Up/Pull-Up

Score is time to completion on Pull-Up.

Twelve minute limit.

My goal was 2 rounds but it just didn't happen today.

8:52RX I was having a big problem linking the C2B pull ups, especially late in the workout. finished just before round 4 or else I was DNF'ing

In the last round, I think I did more than 25 burpees because I lost count.

I had some kind of brain fail here. Daniel tried this as originally conceived and DNF'd. So I tried it for one round of 25/27 in three minutes, then decided to finish it after the clock ran to six minutes 25/18 in 8:31. But I :A forgot to do C2B and B: not really sure it was fair to take a round off.

In any case this can be done in two rounds. This is a keeper.

This got really hard really fast. DNF--21 pull-ups.

For some reason my arms felt like lead after the burpees, so I came off the bar more often than I would have liked on the pull ups. Oh well.

It was an interesting workout to watch - everyone came screaming out of the gate for the first round, then promptly fell apart. If we were to graph the work output of the group over time, it would look something like the trajectory of a plane that lost its wings in mid-air.

As Max said, I DNF'd hard on the original concept of this, only making 33 C2B pull-ups and scaling back to 20 burpees for the last two rounds (otherwise my score would have been the 13 pullups I did in the first round, and nothing more).

Notes:
1. tried to finish w/round 2 and got another 15 pull ups after resting through the first 3 minute round.
2. did 6 more pull ups to complete the 45.
3. 169 total burpees.

I had a good first round and then became that crashing plane Daniel discussed.

DNF. 28 pull ups and 100 burpees. (finished burpees just in time to start the next set...twice!) ugh

I messed this up on a number of levels starting by not knowing the workout and doing 30 burpees per round because I remembered the workout from when it first went up probably... then Daniel did exactly what he was supposed to and asked me what how many c2b's i did and I promptly lost track of my burpees in the second round around 17 but went to what I thought was 30 again. 30 burpees in round 3 left me 10 seconds so no pullups in round 3 and 25 burpees in round 4 let me finish my final 10 c2b to completion... I was looking forward to trying to make this one respectable before I took the self-imposed nose-dive Daniel described.

10 c2b L-pullups
10 burpees

can't do 30 per/round burpees due to my shoulder rehab. Went to ironworks today to do a variation that I thought was perfect: 5 rounds of 15' no-leg rope climb and 10 burpees and when there realized that the rope is OFF LIMITS (fixing the top rope courses)!!! so i did this varation instead (see above). it was brutal. 10 burpees doesn't seem bad until your midline ceases up from the pullups, whichon their own are rough. did the first round unbroken and thereafter did pullups in sets of 2.

all in all, A Great workout!
