WOD 100517

20RM Back Squat 11/13

Post load to comments.

Deadlift 7-7-7-7-7

Warm up, then do the first work set at 82.5% of your most recent one-rep max (which should be found HERE). Add at least .5 pounds and not more than 5 pounds to each subsequent lift. The first set should be brutally difficult, and the subsequent sets even harder.

And that's my CFEB shirt on the ground next to me!

made up squats: (3/12)
165lbs PASS. this one took a while.

followed with 1.5hrs of bouldering and top rope skill work.

MT

Jessica - Awesome costume, but the other Hulk's 'stache is looking a bit thicker than yours...maybe start growing out your handlebar a week or two earlier next year?

Back Squat 20RM 11/13

235# Pass

I was pretty certain I was going to fail on this one around rep 12, but I did it somehow.

Deadlift 7-7-7-7-7

328-331-335-337 (fail one rep) DNF

This was super-hard after the squats.

35 unbroken pull-ups. Tied with Doron for record.

Back Squat 20RM 8/13 (I'm a little behind)
125lbs Pass (Thank you CJ for getting me through the last three)

Deadlift 7-7-7-7-7:
225-230-235-240-245

20RM back squats, 95# pass (9/13)

Deadlifts:
163-165.5-168-170-172

Never made it to my 82.5% 1RM. Back squats beforehand were not conducive to this happening; even mini-Hulk has her weaknesses.

20 RM back squat @ 175#, pass, barely.
DL 225,230,235,240,245#.

MT

back squat 215# pass

deadlift 300,305,310, failed at 315.

legs are very tired, will walk funny tomorrow at work.

20RM Back Squat @ 190 Pass

DL 325FAIL, 315FAIL, DNF, DNF, DNF ... I messed up on my numbers and started heavier than I should have. Form was so terrible that I called it quits with the heavy stuff, then did:

2 Rounds of
10 Hand Stands, 30 Sit-Ups

Followed by
SAVE THE CHILDREN (I made this up)

21 Wall Balls (20# ball)
Walk/Run the ball to the gate and back
15 Wall Balls
Walk/Run
9 Wall Balls
Walk/Run ... if the ball touches the ground, you must restart the round

145 155 165 175 DNF. Must work on form.

20x120lb Back Squat (12/13-- I skipped ahead by 1)
DL: 157-161-165-169-171lbs
Also got 2x173lb DL, which made riding afterward pretty difficult.

20 RM back squat 100# failed at 16. I haven't done this for two weeks and stayed at my last weight. try again in a couple of days.
DL: 130-135-140-145-150 should have started higher (this wasn't 82% of 1RM), but hadn't done a DL in a month, and wanted to focus on form.

Note - I felt that even though 82.5% of 1RM plus some amount "x" would be the usual progression, for me, as someone who has done a lot of work in this rep domain in metcons, it did not seem like enough: I tried starting at about 90% and this turned out to be too much after the squats, but might generally work.

For instance I did 315x17 unbroken at regional last year and 82.5% of my current 1RM of 375 is only 310, which is not enough. 85% for sets across might work well.

BS - 150#, pass
DL - 255x255x135x135; Daniel and Doron "suggested" i drop the weight and work on form to prevent serious injury.

did squats yesterday so subbed with (left) shoulder rehab. 20reps kb press/Ppress/Pjerk (1/12): 12kb Pass

deadlifts:
275 - 275 - 275 - 275 F

Daniel found some screwy things going on in my deadlift and we worked on cleaning them up. Got rid of my hitch at the bottom, and (mostly) of my scapula-relaxing on the descend.

Finished with bouldering/top rope. Got my "masters" belay card and did my first 10A (one accidental foot fault)

MT

BS: 230 (f at 19)

DL: 340-315-315-DNF (this was ugly)

I was thoroughly punished for sitting at my desk too much and not sleeping enough the last two weeks. Point taken.

MT

the final result of my workout was Rebecca calling me out to put myself on the excuse board..."so my workout took me an hour, it just happened to be from 6:30-7:30 across two classes"

220# 20rm back squat (fail at 13 again)..
then on to dl 265-275-280... go back and finish squats at 225 to start the second class for 7 reps I owe at 225 (ugly but done)... then back to deads for 275, and 285 final set with second class.

also FYI CJ's deadlifts are freakin' impressive!! if I'm not mistaken that was 7 reps at 475 to finish with... with great form for that weight too! great job.

20x105# Back Squat (I failed this weight at 18x last week when I was in front of the mirror upstairs)
DL: 158-163-165.5-168-170-172
Deadlifts felt pretty solid today.

16x110# Back Squat (lower back pain= a lot).
DL: 163-165.5-168-170-172
I probably should have done more, but my back hurt, so this was enough.

BS: 20 @ 40#
DL: 90-100-110-120-130

Google

20 Front squats @60#
Failed at rep 6. at least as much from a failure at holding onto the bar as from the inability to get the squats done.

DL:
125-135-138.5(x5)-137(x4)-0

I am loosing the arch in my back about half way up when the bar gets heavy and i get tired. Think it might be related to insufficiently strong back and shoulder muscles. Focusing on trying to keep my scapula glued to my back helps until the bar is heavy enough and/or i am tired enough that it doesn't anymore.

back squats...20 @ 80 lbs
DL 169-172-177X
