I've been very happy with the live feed for the games, but was quite frustrated tonight that mens' heats 2, 3 and half the 4th were not available for archive viewing. Ah well - at least we could still watch Annie kick ass.
A note for those doing tomorrow's WOD: if you have any calluses built up, you might want to spend some time tomorrow morning filing them down - this will be tough on your hands. Also, hand thongs are very useful.
I tried a different games workout (Cleans/HSPU) with modifications:
AMRAP in 12 min:
3 cleans with 105lbs
4 static HSPU
5 rounds + 3 cleans
Then successfully cleaned 115lbs and attempted 125lbs (suspect I was a little worn-out from the metcon). Rather enjoyable!
Final event starting soon. Come on over and watch.
DNF w/a score of 162. Went on to complete all reps in about 30 minutes.
DNF scaled=20kg KB
1200m, 63 KB, 36 pull ups, 800m run, 28 KB
After the clock ran out ,and a rest, I did 14 more KB and 24 pull ups.
time ran out (24mins) at 13 KB swings in last round
I've been in the south bay with family all weekend, but I went to CF Willow Glen on Saturday. They too had us do the event 2a WOD, but they said to do it as a team of 2 so it was remarkably easier.
My brother and I did it as a team - 14:55 RX (except not really since it we were a team).
Fun WOD though! I kind of want to try it by myself now.
I'm very sad to have missed all of the games watching festivities.
Although I didn't finish, we've definitely been put through harder heavier stuff.
At 24mins, just finished the 400m run.
