Very sad to be missing this one, but have lunch plans in the South Bay. Do you think there's any change I can talk the BIW staff into opening up the outside for me to run/throw weights around in the morning?
I'd just do it with the rower instead of running.
Subed 500 meter row.
11:10 Rx
40, 30, 20, 10 mini-metcon: squats, walking lunge, sit ups, push ups.
1RM snatch got to 75# and had one of those 1# metal collars get stuck on the bar, wasted most of the time trying to get it loose. next time I'll know better.
I'll have to re-do this part.
B: 14:38 Rx.
A.) squat snatch 125 with a grade of "C"... every snatch heavier felt fugly.
B.) 105# version of the workout.. 10:42
1RM press-175#
9:22RX for the workout, subbed 500m rows. first time in a few weeks it's felt like I was fully breathing...GREAT feeling
on a side note, super invincible Brian, what have you done with regular Brian? I miss him..and his beatable times
on another side note, I think its somewhat selfish and irresponsible to be working out with heavy weights 30 weeks pregnant. Any kind of slip or mistake could be potentially fatal
Another vote for whatever Amanda wants. Is it possible, Max? I'm sure the staff are pretty sick of eyeballing me dropping weights inside the gym...
You can always ask about going outside with the weights. I don't think we exactly have a policy, but Lyn is the manager of BIW now, and she has been the #1 supporter of the program.
Nice numbers guys.
Brian (as opposed to BrYan) has moved to Ohio.
12:33 A 65lbs. Subbed 400m for run (I didn't know that 500m was the thing to do). I was feeling rather happy with my performance until I noticed that you all did 500m runs and still smoked me...sigh.
Anyway...it looks like my next step is making friends with Lyn!
A: 1Rm snatch, 155# (sadly, 10# less than last time...)
B: 10:30 with 105#
later in the day: 3.6 mile run with 10 rounds of running the berkeley stadium stairs at mile 1.8
I tried asking for the keys to the emergency exits on 2 separate occasions (2 different staff members) but they say, quote "it is not their policy to allow anyone other than class trainers to have the keys".
They're pretty strict about dropping the weights especially if someone from the cycling machine upstairs tipped them off. I've been approached by the staff twice, the first time I tried lugging 95# through the main door to finish the workout, the 2nd time I just stopped and went with pull-ups instead.
I don't have access to car this week, so I can't make it to any GWPC trainings. I'm also moving to Sunnyvale next week, so I might not be able to train with you guys for much longer. I'll make best of what resources I got now I guess.
Max thanks for the tips. To all trainers (Max, Daniel, Bryan, Ynez), thank you guys for being so patient with me. It's been an awesome 3 months training with you guys, I'll keep up the good work and THANK YOU!
