28/29 could not make it through Christmas Eve!

Daniel - please bring back the MWOD!

CF Bernardini:

A) Shovel out of house for time.
B) 1RM- 75#... a whole 3lb increase. wow. I was hoping for at least 5.
C) 8:57. I did 55 reps at 45#... whoops.

A. 105! 10 pound PR! Yah! I guess only doing benching at oregon kinda helps.
B. 5:54 scaled, started at 65, made it to 20 and then scaled back to 55 and finished.

PS. Daniel: Commanding people to do the MWOD seems to help.

This was officilally my worst workout of 2010. I'll spare you the details but I will be throwing this out as an outlier.

Press: 155: 10 pounds less than my initial press at the beginning of the strength cycle, 20.5 pounds less than my recent PR of 175.5 and 25 pounds less than my best predictor.

Metcon: a horrible and weak 8:43.

Yeah, this was rough for me. 185 is not what I was looking for at all.

I felt pretty confident that I'd hit 200 (or at least 195) today, but I normally rest a lot more between lifts and I definitely should have skipped the mini-metcon. Doing that minutes before a max attempt pretty much guaranteed I wouldn't see my real 1 rep max today.

The metcon afterward was pretty cool, if a little too close to my last lift. Obviously my lack of stamina showed up, as my shoulders basically burned out after 23 reps. Kudos to Andre for killing it on this one. He's obviously got good shoulder flexibility, great stamina, and a solid rack position - things I clearly need to work on.

MWOD was cool (Thanks Daniel), it was great seeing all of you guys again and meeting some cool new people too. It's too bad I work nights, I always enjoy the classes.

Sara and Charlie:

Last day in South Africa. After both being sick over the last few weeks we are almost better with just the remnants of a cough.

Sara:
1 RM Press: 68 lbs. Terrible - only gained 3lbs over cycle and press is still very weak.
WOD: DNF after 10 minutes. Did 57 lbs and only reached 28 reps after 10 minutes

Charlie:
1 RM Press: 170 lbs. Big improvement. Previous 1 RM was 135 lbs achieved during a Crossfit Total attempt last year.
WOD: 5:10
Also worked on some rowing technique. Did 500m row in 1:24 @ 33 strokes/minute - not great.

A little morning WOD at about 2000 or 2500ft left me breathing pretty hard:

21-15-9
Double-unders
12kg kb swings
3:04

Then in a random Bakersfield gym that did not have 2.5lb plates (the woman at the front desk had never heard of them):

A: 75-85-95(F). My original 1RM was 90lbs, but I could not make that weight at this gym.
B: 4:59 (unracked once)

My lifetime PR for the press is 90#; my 1RM for the 5-3-1 cycle was 85#. Yesterday I got 82# after failing at 85# twice. I maybe could have gotten 83 or 84 but I didn't have time to try it. The press is still so weak. Must keep working at it.
I only unracked once during the metcon but every press after the 15th or so was tough. Could have been because I swam yesterday morning too... oops...

A. 1 RM press 75 lbs ( increase of 10 lbs )
B. Messed up. Didn't realize that I could "rest" the bar in rack position, so I ended up doing 4 rounds of the burpee/kettlebell duet. Only did 38 , 55 lb presses in just under 10 minutes. Basically a DNF.

it lost my post! anyone else having issues with posting using chrome? I lose about 1/10 of my posts.

A:
145# PR
(4 lbs above predictor and 20# over last 1rm test)

b:
5:38 RX
21-15-9 on the presses.

ynez, swimming freestyle for the first time in what, half a year, 5 rounds of a pre-metcon, running, and letting the diet go to hell MIGHT tire you out a bit? ;)

doron - you may be onto something there. I'm happy to announce though that the diet is nicely back on track.

MT

177# press PR
PR by 7 pounds which I'm fairly pleased with

Metcon was 4:12 I think. Probably could have been much faster but I didn't want to hurt andre's feelings
