Attendance in CrossFit East Bay All Levels Classes now requires participation in our On-Ramp introductory series of classes or a six session Introduction to CrossFit. Details here. This is to ensure safety and improve the member experience. All current participants will have the requirement waived, however you will need to have your Touchstone account "tagged" with the /CFEB tag, and get on the master list of approved participants. You can do this at the front desk.
WOD 110103
A: Work Up to a 1RM in the Deadlift
B: B: 45 reps Deadlift 225/155
For each rest perform;
200 Meter Run
20 Burpees
10 C2B Pull-Ups
15 minute limit.
Post load in part "A" and time in part "B" to comments.

1 RM: 232#. Lifting in less than ideal conditions in my parents basement. Hands slipped on 245.
DL metcon: 5:35 RX

What was considered a rest? Hands off bar? 10 seconds?
The penalty did not fit the crime! Ouch!
I'd like an answer to this one myself, just for future reference.
I would think it's hands off bar, but of course I wasn't there. It's not unlike the press version in that you can't recover that well when your legs are bent. I wouldn't mind trying the metcon with a clean grip the whole time.

B: 2:01 RX (reps unbroken), after a few minutes rest I did the "penalty" just for good measure.

You can sit there with your hands on the bar forever. Max may disagree, but my standard on the deadlift is anything more than one breath with the weight on the ground is a broken set.
Totally agree. One breath.
One breath was the standard we used yesterday morning too (think Doron and Max agreed with Daniel on this).
