G2O/H = Ground To Overhead AKA C&J
@Raphael - sorry your comment got deleted when I removed duplicate post.
this workout is nasty
6:30am - 23:05? sc (1.5pood one-arm G20)
29:50 scaled
got overly ambitious and did the first round and a half Rx which blew me out. Finished the WOD at 115#, but by then, I was gassed. Dips were fun (i know, i'm sick like that). 18-3, 11-4, 9 all strict.
Unexplained insomnia last night tells me that I am probably training a little too much. Backed it off tonight by scaling as much as I could:
11-8-5
75lb G2O
Pull-ups
0.75p swings
Push-ups
9:54 (includes time to pop weights off & on due to sharing a bar)
I wouldn't say that I feel overreached in any other way besides sleep though. I have an alternate theory which says that I'm going to be uncomfortably energetic the evening *after* a long evening of cardio (i.e. Monday's chipper). I will have to test that theory at some point as well.
@Andi, please tell me more about the correlation between overtraining and insomnia? I have had sleep loss for the last 2 months when I was doing strength training. Someone mentioned it could be due to overtraining. I actually thought it was the other way around. That I was stalling because I wasn't getting enough rest. Is it the chicken or egg? I don't know how Max figured out a predictor of 30ish for me in this WOD. My predictors only served to get me excited for nothing.
11-10
95# G2OH
Pull ups
1 poods KBS
Ring dips
9:55
22:02 Scaled 80#
I did 21 C2B pull-ups...ooops.
20:43RX I was disappointed with how quickly my lungs failed me, seeing as how none of the movements caused me a huge problem. The fact that I've neglected metcon in favor of strength training is starting to show
@Jenn, it's mostly conjecture. What I'm assuming here is that training a little too much is causing a release of a little too much cortisol (stress hormone) into my system. See this too.
I know from experience that when I am stressed (have a lot of stress hormone available), I don't sleep well. There is currently nothing particularly stressful going on in my life aside from training, so if I'm not sleeping well, the stressor is probably the training.
I'm sure it can work the other way around too: stressing about something else will make you lose sleep, and potentially cut into your workout, or at least your desire to work out.

Edit: At the risk of writing a treatise (treatises in comments sections also cause my cortisol levels to rise), I'll also say that it's a matter of personal preference. I could probably have done the workout Rx last night and made gains from it because I'm feeling pretty good despite the insomnia. It would also have made me feel tired and grumpy until at least Saturday morning. I prefer being fresh for the Friday/Saturday WODs because 1. they are fun and 2. I get an entire Sunday for recovery.
20:00 Rx. Stupid dips.....and G2Os........and C2B pullups...........too much whining? ;)
25:10 RX: I soloed this WOD,certainly would have done it in less time with the company of my com padres.
