For any Berkeley people, I will be doing a 5k run tomorrow morning at 6:30 AM starting from the corner of college and ashby. Anyone is more than welcome to join me. I won't wait, so if you're late, just run faster and catch up :). The route will be up to Bancroft, then going over to shattuck, down shattuck to ashby, finally back to the starting point. Basically one big square.
mornings + exercise = pain
The article linked to said the exercise regimens the test subjects were subjected to were done at a strenuous intensity. And this is CrossFit, which is all about intensity, so why an 'easy' pace?
@John
Because you can't go balls to the wall all the time (or it will be more like raisins to the wall).
The test subjects did not do "Fran" on the same day. Also the NYTs idea of intensity and ours is not the same.
The fasted cardio is going to be a regular feature of CFEB, and on days when appropriate, intensity will be called for in the form of sprint intervals, etc.
7-minute all-out run: 1.6k / exactly 1 mile
(sweet!)
Followed by 200 double-unders (in 4:07, but I wasn't timing it, I swear)
Didn't run this morning. So no fat was lost.
B). Fran - Scaled 85lbs Thruster - 7:59
Fran: 9:09 Rx (just over 1 min slower than PR)
Push-Press: 85# (3-5)
After Mon & Tue's WODs...I felt done before I even started.
