Trainers/Ynez
I am a natural athlete (thanks mom and dad!). I
spent most of my youth riding bikes, wrestling with my older brothers,
playing golf with my grandpa, playing soccer and tennis, doing track and
field, swimming, and longing for the chance to dance ballet and do
gymnastics. All of my adult life I have been active but had not achieved my fitness and body composition goals until I began doing CrossFit.
In 2007 a friend introduced me to CrossFit. I could not conceptualize how in the hell I was going to be able to do pull ups, push ups, squats, and all the other madness she was talking about but I thought I'd like to try. I began training with Max Lewin and CrossFit East Bay in January 2008 and was enthralled by the challenge of learning so many new things in every class.
In 2009, I trained for the CFEB Affiliate Cup Team and participated in the 2009 CrossFit Games. It was an intense and very fulfilling experience. In August of 2010, I got my Level I Certification.
My focus now is on CrossFit, both as a trainer and as a trainee. There is still so much to learn, unlearn, relearn, discover. I mix in competitive USTA league tennis, take the occasional ballet class, try to get out onto the golf course whenever possible, and just generally like to run around and get sweaty.
I want the people I train with to be utterly, astoundingly successful in everything they do. Always be learning, always be growing, and realize that sometimes you have to get out of your own way to get to where you want to go.
